Biggs Lists a 24-Hour Public Works Emergency Number for Water and Sewer Problems

BIGGS — November 2, 2026. The Biggs Public Works Department manages city streets, drainage, municipal parks and parts of the water and sewer systems. It also provides a round-the-clock number for urgent infrastructure problems.

What the department maintains

The city estimates about 16 miles of streets, eight miles of sewer lines and five municipal parks, together with drainage infrastructure and three public drinking-water wells.

How to report a problem

For routine matters, Biggs publishes its Public Works office at 2865 West Biggs Gridley Road, phone 530-868-1396, during normal weekday business hours. The city’s 24-hour emergency contact is 530-682-0770 for urgent water, sewer and other Public Works issues.

Use the right number

A water-main break, sewer overflow or dangerous roadway condition should be described with the street, intersection and visible hazards. Emergencies threatening life still require 911 rather than a municipal maintenance request.
